Fall is synonymous with Back to School. Adios Summer, it’s time to get back to business! As the weather cools I joyfully pull my favorite motorcycle jacket out from the back of the closet and crave comfort foods. I swap my afternoon iced tea for a cozy matcha latte.
As many of you know I’m a tea-a-holic (yep I traded in my vodka soda for a cuppa). After copious hours experimenting I’ve arrived at the perfect matcha latte recipe to ease you into Autumn.
B’s Magnificent Matcha
1 teaspoon Jade Leaf Matcha Green Tea Powder
1 cup coconut milk foamed. I use a Nespresso frother
3 drops 365 French Vanilla Stevia Extract Liquid (I've tried every brand and this reigns superior! Get it at WholeFoods)
A sprinkle of Organic Ceylon Cinnamon
Bring filtered water to almost a boil. Place matcha in your favorite mug and pour in water whisking in an “M” shape. Foam one cup coconut milk and add to mug. Place 3 drops of stevia in mug and give it all another quick whisk. Sprinkle on cinnamon and enjoy!
Make it Bulletproof by adding one teaspoon of gheeand forgoing the foamer. Instead add all the ingredients plus the ghee to your blender, blend and enjoy a super creamy treat!
If you’re not familiar with Bulletproof, it’s a nutrition/lifestyle program developed by Silicon Valley royalty, Dave Asprey best known for Bulletproof coffee. Their lattes have a cult like following with the peak performance crowd because incorporating fat in the form of ghee (clarified butter) to your coffee or tea maximizes energy levels while avoiding a caffeine crash.
In addition to matcha lattes, I’m a fangirl for Bulletproof Collagen Protein Bars which you’ll find stashed inside my purse. These tasty snacks are sugar free, gluten free and my savior when seeing back to back clients. Since adding collagen to my diet I’ve noticed that my knees are less crackly and my skin feels softer.
My next recommendation to help you give 2018’s last quarter a high kick is Jen Sincero’s hilarious and life changing book, You’re a Badass at Making Money. It’s on repeat in my car and has helped me double my income this year. For real.
Here's a morsel of her wisdom to get you off your arse and turning pages stat.
"Rich: Able to afford all of the things and experiences required to fully experience your most authentic life."
Can I get an Amen?
Finally, a word about presence as we head into this productive and festive season. Earlier this year I got a huge wake up call while walking and texting (do not try this at home). I tripped on a curb, landed on my chin and ended up in the ER with eight stitches. I was mortified and it could have been avoided if I’d been watching where I was going. If I was present.
Thankfully I’m a quick learner and my doctor prescribed a magical potion called Scar Guard to minimize the gash on my chin. Now I spend way less time on my smartphone and am happier for it. Because there's no substitute for the present. It’s a gift. So when you’re out there doing your thang and kicking butt please remember to look up from your screen and enjoy the people and beauty all around you.
May this Autumn bring you abundance, comfort and clarity.
